Wonderware Finland (Company Klinkmann) develops and supplies solutions for cellular network based automation for over 10 years. The concept consists of standard software and hardware modem products, and it is closely integrated with Wonderware InTouch and System Platform.


Wonderware wireless concept supports different generations of cellular network operator services:
- GSM SMS text messages (GSM-Control)
- GPRS TCP/IP data transfer (GPRS-Control)
- 3G UMTS TCP/IP data transfer (3G-Control)


GSM-Control makes a standard PC to send and receive standard text messages with cell phones, other PCs and controllers with a cell modem (GSM-modem).
GSM-Control concept consists in a PC of:
- GSM-Control software (interfaced with Wonderware software)
- GSM-modem, antenna and cables interfacing the PC to cellular network services.
GSM-Control installation in a PC takes less than 30 minutes and GSM-Control is implemented in over 10.000 applications for monitoring, data collecting and alarm handling in various industries:
- building, water, energy and process automation
- machine and device monitoring, data collecting and maintenance.


Wonderware Finland supplies also Text Messages-operated TCBox I/O-unit and miniPLC+display controllers which operate as local controllers and/or substations over cellular network in distributed systems.
